El sueño del Sonador (Dream of the Dreamer) « Thread Started on Jul 9, 2006, 4:58am »
The night breeze ran its gentle fingers through the star-silver mane of a young mare. She had laid claim over this land from Amazing Grace, whom she loyally served. At this moment, as she scanned the surrounding land from on top of a ridge, she let out a sigh. She needed a mate and a herd to bring this beautiful land, this fantasy alive. The mare's name was Sonador...Sonador the dreamer.
The silver and cream mare closed her eyes briefly and imagined a huge herd grazing and running free on that wondrous land. A small smile decorated her fine features as her vision continued. She truly was a dreamer.
When she finally opened her eyes, the lovely silver flowers that lay on the ground twinkled like stars. That alone seemed to fuel her determination. There would be a stallion to rule by her side and a great herd will be free to race the wind in the beautiful land that lay before her eyes...

Musica cantered into the newly claimed terra. She stood on an oppisite ridge of the Lead Mare. The mare was a bay with a flowing black river of a mane and tail. Her cinnamon hued pelt shimmered in the sun's glory. The fae opened her maw and let out a sweet beautiful call. She waited for the other Mare to call back.

A neigh sounded in the distance, instantly catching the attention of the young palomino mare. The neigh had come from a mare, Sonador was sure of it. Lifting her fine head into the sky, she reared and nieghed in answer, her lilting voice calling out. In it, joy for freedom and infinite love for nature sounded. A thought crossed through the young mare's head. In the voice of the other mare, she had detected intelligence, courage and determination.
Perhaps she'd join me and become my head Warrior or Guard... Sonador thought as she made her way towards the other mare, guided only by sound and scent...

Muscia looked sweet and un-warrior like. But her eyes held her expericence. Her silky pelt covered her battle scars well. She had studied the other predators and wan unafraid. The big mare started out to meet the other.
" Please...Please be in need of a friend, a Warrior...Something..." She whispered her prayer to her totem, the Eagle.
Musica shifted into a fast trot enjoying the feel of the wind blowing threw her mane and across her shinning pelt.

The light of the moon flashed and reflected on the mane and pelt of the young palomino mare as she cantered towards the mare, her mane and tail flowing like spun-silver and her lovely cream pelt making her look like a ghost in the gloom. She glided smoothly, a pale shadow in the night towards the mare who was now in sight. Sonador slowed to a trot and raised her noble head, calling towards the mare before her...
"I am in need of a warrior or a guard or a scout, perhaps you would like to govern this land with me. I need help in gathering a herd... I have not met any other horses, since I set foot into this land..."

" Gentle Lady! I am a Warrior! I shall help you. I will stay and help govern! I am Musica, Gentle Lady!" The sweet big equine said to the smaller mare. Her big dark eyes displayed her emotion. The rest of her gave no expression. She was powerful and weary...Yet she dipped her chisled head in a small bow.

Sonador dipped her head towards the mare before her, Musica and said, "Thank You...I can see that you are experienced and have survived many battles. Perhaps you would like to be my head warrior, or perhaps head guard and possibly my Beta. I would love to have you..." Sonador smiled at the mare before her, she would make a wonderful friend.

" Of course Lady Sonador. Beta? Lady Sonador! Might I be? Aye. Tis true Lady. I have been in many battles. I thank you." Musica smiled back. She would scold herself later for showing emotion. "Hasn't a pretty little thing like ye have a mate? " Her sweet musical voice was teasing and friendly. The cinnimmon hued equine chuckled to herself.

"Nah... Not yet at least. Well, I'm too busy to actually go looking for one... Hopeless, aren't I?" Sonador answered, her eyes glinting with humour. "Maybe someday, but not now, not yet... Now, wouldn't you like to graze or something? I'm feeling rather tired right now, well, bored would be a better word..." Sonador was muttering softly and cocking her head in a funny way...

" Come..." The other mare pivoted on her ebonite daggers and raced away. Her waterfall of black silk and banner billowed out behind her. Her laugh was of pure joy and freedom, it was Music.

" Yeah, great idea. Let's go!!!" With that, Sonador bunched up her muscles and went speeding after the mare in front of her, her mane and tail streaming out in the wind like spun silver. Sonador was definitely fast, but Musica's legs were longer. Usually, Sonador was able to put even the largest horse to shame. However, Musica was fast as well, Sonador just couldn't manage to get in front of her, just keep pace...
Sonador closed her eyes, seeing Starlight Plateau in her minds eye. Only this time, there were many more horses racing by Musica and her, laughing and neighing in joy... Well, she certainly was a dreamer. And then, in her mind's eye, she saw the finish line, she called up her reserves of energy and lengthened her stride. There it was and she burst through with her eyes still closed. She knew the terra so well, that she could navigate in it blindfolded... However, she didn't know who won or lost...

The huge mare sighed and closed her eyes too. Instead of seeing the land, she felt it. Musica almost knew the land as well as her Leader. Musica lengthend her stride and streched out. Running came naturally for the cinnimmon mare. But Sonador was a good racer too. Musica just barely beat her. The gentle breeze carried the smell of a pack of wolves. Her nares flared and she nickered softly to Sonador. " Lady Sonador...Please find some place else...Wolves are coming this way...Lady I ask you to leave..." Her rich musical voice was calm yet firm. Her eyes burned with fire. The silky rich brown pelt was quivering over her well toned muscles. Musica nudged Sonador. " Lady..Walk..Do not run. Twill be harder for me if you run! Now Go! You shall see me again." Musica promised.

"Ahh... Wolves... I remember frolicking with a cub when I was young, turns out, the mother didn't quite agree and chased me off... Thanks Musica, I'll go. One more thing though, drop the formality and call me Sonador...just Sonador..." With that done, the young palomino turned tail and melted into the shadows of the trees. For a mare as light-coloured as she was, she certainly knew how to use the shadows for protection, and if she had to, to ambush someone from...
